Applying as an Associate:

Include your resume along with at least 3 samples of your work, services, or products as PDF files or embedded within the email.

Applying for Email Account only:

Include a brief explanation stating your interest in this site and your intended use for an exclusive Email address and/or Bio listing.

Fees & Costs:

Associate: (1) $120 annual adminitration fee. (2) One time $20 per page set-up fee up to 10 pages. More pages negotiable. (3) Nominal commission on all sales ranging from 10% to 20% depending on associated sales and handling costs. (4) Legal liability agreement and signed contract. (5) Installment plan available.

Email Only: $5 per month (Dial-up not included). If you would like a Bio listed (see Bios) the fee is $7.50 per month.

Free expression demands responsibility. Due to the nature of free expression, no hard set of policies or guidelines are established for this site. This leaves each artist the freedom to contribute in their own way and consistent with their own beliefs. Except for nominal fees, legal considerations and our commitment to support a "stable" of no more than 12 artists (Associates), there are no criteria necessary in order to join in this endeavor, no religious affiliation and no set of political or artistic beliefs are expected or implied. In this way, we can allow "our" art the flexibility to be experimental, confrontational, beautiful, or ugly, all within the context of a commitment to a more interesting and honest world.

The purpose of this site is to share and explore creative expression. Art, in it’s many manifestations, is communication in it’s most powerful form. Our responsibility requires a very careful balance between our collective social responsibility and the ongoing battle for artistic and expressive freedom. Room With A Window is dedicated to finding that balance, however allusive that balance may be.

On this site, the term “Artist” is used broadly — paraphrasing one popular definition: “A person who performs their work as though it were an Art.” This definition includes the carpenter and mechanic as well as the visual, literary, musical, or performing artist. Room With A Window supports the idea that art is defined more by your "attitude" towards what you do rather than just the laymen's definition of what you do. We want artists who understand the nuances of their craft and boldy strive to embody them in their work in spite of "popular" perception.

This site is structured to contain several levels. Room With A Window itself is a public and commercial forum that does not contain extreme ideas or content which risk legal challenge. All Associates will be represented at this first level with preview material that meets those guidelines. However, if an Associate has more controversial and challenging materials, those materials will be placed on linked sites that require additional security and authorization to access from this site. (This is to ensure that minors are not able to view what could be deemed inappropriate subject matter for their age.)

Room With A Window will never exclude any Associate's artwork or product based on its subject matter, content, nature, or orientation. However, we reserve the right to make the decision to move what we deem sensitive content to a more "child-proof" site. If you respect these few discretionary policies and guidelines, we welcome you into our world. Let's make art!
